Watch the whales from just about any room at Chez Baleine and when you walk out onto its expansive deck, you'll hear the roar of the ocean. When there's a breeze, you can even feel the salt spray! Whales aren't the only fauna you'll see... enjoy the company of deer, hawks, seagulls, and our resident geese that make their home at Chez Baleine.

Recently renovated, Chez Baleine offers many fine details, beginning with the hand-wrought iron door knockers that adorn the front entrance to the simple Arts and Crafts-meets-the Far East decor.

This fabulous home was designed for viewing the dramatic cliffs overlooking the Pacific from the safety of the deck, while indulging in the pleasures of the kitchen. Food and wine enthusiasts will experience true delight at the seven-burner professional cook-stove and grill, industrial strength stainless steel vent hood, gorgeous granite counters, and elegant glass-front cabinetry. Perfect for entertaining!

For formal dining, there's a lovely table with upholstered chairs and seating for six.

For informal al fresco dining, the "green room" will allow you to comfortably enjoy the outdoors on chilly or breezy nights. The stars and views will not disappoint.

Chez Baleine can accommodate up to eight guests, with two queen and two double beds and three baths. All rooms are outfitted with fine cotton linens and plenty of cozy blankets. The master bathroom features a two-person shower and an oversize soaking tub with a lovely ocean view. All bedrooms are outfitted with fine cotton linens and plenty of cozy blankets.

After sunset it's an easy stroll to the village of Caspar, where you'll find entertainment on many evenings at the funky and fun Caspar Inn, or take a five-minute drive south to Mendocino or north to Fort Bragg for fine restaurants, elegant and quirky shops, antiques, art galleries and live theatre and music.

No, you can't swim with the whales, but if they're out there, you'll be sure to see them from the decks at Chez Baleine.

One visit, and you'll never want to leave.
